There are many famous ghosts which have been reported to lurk wherever tragedy happened to strike them down in their mortal lives. From the Bell Witch to the Drury Lane Ghost, purported sightings of these tortured spirits continue even in modern times. These sighting are scattered all over the world and range from the U.S. state of Tennessee, all the way to England.
The Bell Witch - The Bell Witch incident contains one of the most famous accounts of an American ghost siting. Sometime between the years 1817 and 1821, John Bell began to experience paranormal activity in his home. The walls shook every day and shrieks were heard throughout the house. Over time the entity became physically violent and attacked Bell's daughter Betsy. There is also a well-known rumor that President Andrew Jackson witnessed these events.
